Is this okay to say to my coach in a text?
tomorrow at 6 am i have a game and i am skipping it (i feel really bad) but i just have too much homework and stuff to do. so right now i’m like freaking out about skipping..and i’m terrified to text my coach because i missed like 5 practices within 3 weeks because i got sick a lot. and 2 weeks ago when i texted her, i told her i was throwing up (which i was. i threw up like 7 times)

so now it’s almost 12 am and i was thinking of texting her and saying "Hey i started throwing up and i’m not feeling well so i can’t go tomorrow. Sorry"

i hate lying!! but unfortunately saying i have too much homework is not going to be ok with her. sooo

1) should i say i’m throwing up? or is that TMI?
2) should i say i’m throwing up if i told her i was throwing up 2 weeks ago? because she might think there’s something seriously wrong with me..
3) tomorrow is sunday..would it be okay to go to practice on monday?

just tell her you’re "sick" be vague. but in your head you’re actually sick of having homework incomplete.

Don’t lie to her, coaches understand that homework is important, be honest and she will respect that.
Ashley | Feb 07, 2010

First of all, I would suggest waiting until a decent hour of the morning to text her! No matter what you say, she may be angry simply for the fact that you’re texting her at midnight.

Secondly, if you’re not feeling up to it, then say just that. Say, "I’m sorry to have to miss the game, but my schoolwork takes priority." Or something along those lines…lol

Good luck!

tomorrow is sunday, tell her you have to go to church with your family

If this is a team through your school you have to have a certain grade point average to be on that team. With that in mind, she will completely understand that you have too much homework as school is more important than sports. Sure, you may have missed practices but if you said you felt bad about it and it shows through your participation at practices. So next time you go to practice make sure you apologize for missing this many practices, and work really hard.

Living in Plano vs McKinney?
My wife and I are hoping to relocate to Plano, or Frisco, Or McKinney soon. We are looking for low crime, great jobs, and a good place to raise kids. We are hoping for a house around 250-300k and a large back yard. She is a teacher and is hoping to work for a great school district, and I am in Human Resources. We are very health conscious and would love to live somewhere with great parks and trails. We appreciate good dining, shopping, and friendly people around our age (mid 20’s- early 30’s) What would be the best fit? McKinney, Plano, Frisco, etc??? (also dont be shy, what are the people really like at each?)

Plano is much better. The crime is much higher in Mckinney. The malls and restauraunts are better in Plano also.

Is the character of William Munny in Unforgiven based on a real person?
Or is he entirely fictional?

saw an interview with clint eastwood and he said he bought the book rights and had it for about 10 years waiting to get older to play the part. the author based thecharacterr on just an old gun fighter
who changed his ways but now had to go back in order to provide for his kids.

Lonesome Dove (1989)

IMDB rating: 9.00

Plot: Retired Texas Rangers Gus McRae and Woodrow Call are content to live out their remaining years in the tiny Texas town of Lonesome Dove. Then their old friend Jake comes to town, and tells them about the incredible oppurtunities for cattle ranching in Montana. Encouraged by this, Call convinces Gus and many other townspeople to go on a perilous cattle drive to Montana. Gus has another agenda though: his former sweetheart now lives in Nebraska, and he hopes for a second chance with her. As the drive goes on it takes on an epic scale, ultimately becoming what could well be called the central event in the lives of all involved.

Your favorite western?
What’s your favorite western of all-time? You can pick from movies or even mini-series, since one of mine is Lonesome Dove.
Ten points to most thoughful answer!

"Lonesome Dove" is the best Western mini-series (and book) ever.

As for the best movie? "Stagecoach" is really good, as is "The Outlaw Josey Wales." I think that John Ford’s cavalry trilogy, all starring John Wayne, may be among the best, too:

Fort Apache (1948) Henry Fonda and daughter Shirley Temple arrive in Fort Apache, Arizona during the wars with Geronimo. Fonda is a petty tyrant who refuses to listen to the sage advice from his subordinate (Duke) or his Sergeant Major (the excellent Ward Bond).

She Wore a Yellow Ribbon (1949) Duke returns as a cavalry officer approaching retirement, but whose younger officers are unready to assume command of an isolated outpost during the Indian Wars. All of John Ford’s regulars (Victor McLaglen, Ward Bond, Mildred Natwick, Harry Carey, Jr., etc) are on hand, too.

Rio Grande (1951) John Ford goes to the well one more time, and pulls up a winner as John Wayne, Maureen O’Hara, Ward Bond, Victor McLaglen, Ben Johnson, and all of the Ford Players team up for the tale of a middle-aged cavalry officer whose son flunks out of the USMA at West Point and joins the cavalry. Guess whose troop he ends up in? Great fun!

This trilogy is a must see for Western fans everywhere!

The Magnificent Seven. It’s a classic good versus evil story with flawed characters and a great cast. I love it!
