Why are Russian Global Warming Scientists More Accurate than Western Global Warming "Experts"?
Over the last 30 years, not one single prediction by a western global warming "expert" has come true. Western global warming experts have warned us that Washington DC would be so warm, the capital would have to be moved to Duluth MN, that snow would be a rare occurrence, that Texas would experience non ending droughts, Greenland would be ice free by the year 2000, hurricanes stronger than Cat 5 would pound the US, global warming would create a pandemic of SARS and Avian Flu, and thousands of other scary wild predictions. For Russian Scientists their track record is starkly different. There it is known that co2 is not to be blamed for global warming. Their research shows conclusively that it’s the Sun that effects the climate far more than a 0.01% increase of a trace gas.

Russian scientists accurately predicted that the Earth’s climate would start to cool, and it has. They also predicted that the cooling would continue for another 30 years.

Seeing that Russian scientist have a better track record at predicting climate change, shouldn’t we put more faith in them rather then in western scientists who have a 0% accuracy track record?

They aren’t. Especially this howler of a mistake:

That is clearly wrong. We measure solar radiation, it’s been decreasing (slowly). We’re warming the atmosphere from the bottom up, not the top down. We’re warming more at higher latitudes than at lower. We;re warming more in the winter than in summer.

Perhaps most telling, we’re warming more at NIGHT than during the day. All of the above is quite consistent with warming by CO2, and totally inconsistent with warming by the Sun.

One scientist has properly said:

"The only problem with putting yet another nail in the coffin of "solar warming" is finding a place to put it."

pretty movies with quiet soundtracks?
I’m looking for movies that are visually beautiful or serene that have quiet soundtracks to go with them. Nothing loud, not very much shouting or guns going off.
Kind of like…
Final Fantasy the Spirits Within (saw that one recently)
A lot of Miyazaki’s stuff
Zen garden
The first disc of The Fellowship of the Ring
Even just abstract pictures set to music like…Illuminations which was a VHS tape I had awhile back.

I think you would really like Koyaanisqatsi. It’s a movie which involves a bunch of scenes (mostly from nature) set to a Phillip Glass minimalist soundtrack. There are no words at all, and extremely slow moving, but it’s very cool.

Let’s see…

The Family Stone - Has a great soundtrack that is genital, and many cool scenes of Snow and town…just brings you into the Holiday spirit.

The Edge - Sound track kind of loud, however, very relaxing. The views they show you are breath taking…just amazing. And an overall great movie.

The Ultimate Gift - Wonderful sound Track, has a few pretty scenes, just an overall touching movie.

The Time Machine (2002) - One of the most amazing sound tracks I have ever heard…a little loud, but it gives you shivers down your spine. Also has many breath taking scenes.

Forrest Gump - Wonderful soundtrack with cool views.

Contact - A very relaxing soundtrack, however, doesn’t have anything amazing as far as scenes go till the end.

That is all I can think of right now, hope that helps…

The best one out of that list that is closest to what you are looking for would be "The Edge".

Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon or Hero - Tan Dun (I didn’t really like CTHD, but the music is very nice)

The director of Hero and House of Flying Daggers, who makes some incredibly visually stunning movies, has an older movie called The Road Home, which I really enjoyed. It has the same actress who also played in both of the other two films listed above.

There are certain tracks on some of these that are kind of loud, but they all have quiet moments, which is the reason I added them. Also, some of the above movies have war scenes. Two movies, Sense and Sensibility (2008 version and not the Emma Thompson movie) and North and South (with Richard Armitage) are both beautiful films with great soundtracks…that have not been released.

What are some words that you would use to describe a Sirens voice?
Sirens: Gorgeous creatures that take the form of women with the most beautiful singing voice that you could ever imagine. They enchant men at sea and lure them into the water where they leave them to drown. If a mann can resist her it is said that the Siren must jump into the sea and drown herself.
Okay, that was just a quick background on Sirens, in case you didn’t know what they were. I’m writing a novel and Sirens sort of play a theme in it. I need help describing their voices. I need words to help describe the sound of their singing and I am running out of ideas. I am not asking you to write the novel for me, I am simply asking for some descriptive words and maybe a few sentences here and there if you want to be really helpful.

To those girls who feel they have low-self esteem, would you need a guy like me in your life?
I’m 18. I knew this girl who really liked me because I listened to her. She felt comfortable talking about her problems with me. After a while, I started developing feelings for her, but she didn’t reciprocate. It made things really uncomfortable, so eventually we just stopped talking. We did talk again, but things just weren’t the same. I asked her to meet with me so we could talk about it, and things did get better, but she still didn’t like me. After that, I decided to just stop talking and sitting with her because things were just so stressful. She asked me why I wasn’t talking to her, and I had to tell her that University was really stressing me out and I felt we needed time apart.
This was two months ago, and we haven’t talk since.

This girl does have self-esteem issues. She has made that very clear. This one guy she went out with was no good, but she wanted to fix him. She has the need to be needed. She can’t really ge this from me because I’m perfectly capable of taking care of myself. Unfortunately, she likes to lead me on. After she told me she didn’t like me, she started touching me a lot because their were bugs flying on me. She kept brushing of, touching my arm and chest. And then she told me I had nice eyes. How ridiculous is that. Girls are just weird. Anyways, despite her flaws, she is a good friend and an interesting person to be around. She’s someone I can really talk to. I definitely don’t want to lose my friendship with her, even if it’s hard for me to be around her when I like her like that. What she says is often very confusing and unclear, so most of the time I have to guess what she’s trying to tell me. She hasn’t really bothered to try and communicate with me, but I guess I can’t expect her to. I don’t know if I should try communicating with her, or just stay away. We have the same class and we don’t talk, so that makes it all worse. I’m not sure if she actually wants to speak to me. I’m real confused.

So what do you think I should do? Should I send her an e-mail and ask her how she’s been? Or should I just stay away from her?

If you can "really talk" to her, why did you lie to her? You’re the one being all weird and wanting to take the relationship to another level without telling her how you really feel. Friends touch, just not sexually. Friends compliment and kid around, but it’s not supposed to mean they’re interested in you romantically.

Her having self-esteem issues has nothing to do with your question. Your question is really: should I tell her I like her as more than a friend? The answer is: Yes, if you are willing to have her tell you no, she’s not interested. (Instead of you thinking she’s not when she might be–that’s YOU making that decision for her and thinking you’re not good enough.) If you just stay away from her, the friendship is over. If you tell her the truth about what you’re thinking and she doesn’t agree, that gives her the power to end the friendship. OR once you tell her, she may reciprocate or she might just say to stay friends…3 out of 4 options gives you time to spend with her and shows her respect.

You might want to examine your own relationship skills. Try reading a book called Ten Stupid Things Men Do to Mess Up Their Lives by Dr. Laura Schlessinger (there’s one for women too). Great read, teaches you about yourself and your relationship style–could save you a LOT of heartache. I’ve read both books and loved them.
