Help, I think I have a mental problem??!?
Hi, I am a 14 year old male. I think I have a mental problem because:
-I get obsessed with things (ie. In grade 4 I read a book on the titanic, and I seriously became obsessed, I learned everything I possibly could about it, and for months, to everyone I spoke to, I would start saying random facts about the titanic, I was simply and totally obsessed)
-I get extremely irritated from any little thing anyone does, even if it’s as simple as asking me a question.
-I can never admit I am wrong, and cannot ever listen to anyone elses opinion.
-I don’t understand when people don’t put things in equal semitry (ie. When I am drawing something, if one side has something, the other side must, and if some one puts something on one side but not the other, I get annoyed and irritated)
-I have extremely low self-esteem, I feel like everyone is watching me, even if they can’t see me.
-I feel depressed when I know someone hates me or doesn’t like me, I get so annoyed and try my hardest to make them like me.
-I CANNOT look into a mirror, I get simply disgusted by the look of myself, and when I am talking to people, I suddenly realize they can see my face and get ashamed.
-I CANNOT dance, play sports or even run without thinking about what I look like in other peoples eyes.
-I get so bored of doing the same thing for 5 minutes and cannot stand it anymore.

Any ideas about what condition I might have? ( I read on various websites that I might have OCD and Depression)

Thanks!!

I’ve read through how you say you act and it seems to me that you just about hit the spot with what you have. The reason I know this is because I used to do A LOT of these things too. You may also want to look into General Anxiety Disorder. I say that because my parents took me to a psychiatrist and that’s basically what I was diagnosed with. My doctor put me on some meds and in a few weeks I was feeling much better.
Wade | Feb 03, 2010

There are alot of things it could be. OCD sounds like it would fit. It is definately a neurotic tendency.
My suggestion would be to take into serious consideration, going to see your doctor, or a psychologist, or both. Talking with pro’s will help you out more than anything yahoo answers can provide.
SarahM | Feb 03, 2010

Build up your self esteem. You ae the only one who can help you.You owe it to yourself to be happy.Look at the positive points in your looks.A smiling face is a beautiful face.It is all about how you carry yourself.
listen, people around you have wonderful messages for you
It sounds like you just described me. I might even be worse. If my right palm itch’s, I have to scratch my right also, it’s compulsive. I am 55 years old. By having the feeling of being watched I do everything better than everybody, or it returns to haunt me. By that I mean, I go over it in my head how I could have done it better. I was a great baseball player but i;m short so, that ambition fell by the wayside. My friend, you have to try, to know what you can do. I might have been a great dancer or anything but, like you I was too self conscience. I bet you even walk perfect. I do.lol. What you have is special. You are just more. It can be a blessing if you use it right. I was good looking and people told me so, but I always thought otherwise. Forget what you look like, you have better things to do. You are going to be obsessed over many things in the future but, you’ve got to move on to bigger and better things, don’t get stuck on trivia. There’s a lot of correction needed in our world, you might be the one to push us in that direction. The one thing a psychiatrist hates to lose is a paycheck. If he thinks that he can keep a patient by playing with your mind, he will. Somebody has to pay his bills. You are fine, you just need to move in a positive direction. Learn all you can and, always do the humanly good thing, and your conscience will be clear.

Unreasonable landlord *warning long post*?
Cutting along story short, i lost my job last late October. All in all, it was on the cards anyway as things weren’t working out. I couldn’t look for another job at the time as i was forced to work 14-16 hour shifts.
I was out of work for two and a half months because of this and fell behined on the rent by those two and 1/2 months as a consequence. My landlord (who also happens to be my cousin) was very understanding about it and told me not to worry and pay back when i’ve got myself sorted.
Thanks to the recession the only jobs i could find back in November were two very small part-time jobs (two days a week, only about 3 hour shifts and crap pay…Basically this pays for my petrol, mobile credit, afew esstiental bills like car insurance and abit of food). However, I’m in major trouble with my credit card company as i can’t keep up with there payments.
Thankfully after major hunting about, i now have a yet another part-time job which has better hours and better pay (29 hrs and six days a week). This new job only kicked off mid last month and as a result my pay this month was only two weeks worth. I’ve had so many things to catch up with and pay for/back that i now have little left to spare :-S. The rent didn’t cross my mind as i knew my cousin understood the circumstances with me working 3 jobs to work things out with.
I’ve kept my landlord informed the entire way and haven’t covered up a thing, again i get told not to worry and theres no rush.
However, two days after my main job pay came in, i got this instant demand out of the blue for the two months rent i owe!!!! After i replied there was no possible way this could happen just yet, HE PUT UP THE RENT BY ?100 (my rent is now nearly ?500 for a tiny one bedroom bunaglow)!!!!
He is now on my back everyday demanding some rent WHICH HE KNOWS I CAN’T AFFORD!!! He is also saying that he needs to pay the mortage on the house i’m living in and at the moment he can’t afford it.
My question and main gripe is my cousins dad comes from a VERY wealthy farming background and could EASIERLY lend him money if he asked for it, wheres i come from a poor background where everyone is struggling to survive, so am i right in thinking my landlord is being completely unreasonable here and how should i deal with this granted that we’re a very close knit family and i don’t want to rock many boats?
Sorry not made myself very clear at the top, i was out of work for two weeks in Novemeber before i landed the small part-time jobs :-P.

You are in the wrong. Just because this person is your cousin and he comes from wealth doesn’t mean he has to give you hand out. The first thing you pay for is your rent! Even more so when you are renting from family. This is generally why there is a "rule" so to say, never rent to your family or friends if you want to keep things strong.

You should have been evicted already and thrown out on your rear. Your cousin was MORE than reasonable. If you were just renting from a person you didn’t know, they would not give a crap about how many hours you work or how many bills you have. Their bill is the bill they want paid and if it isn’t you are SOL.

You are taking advantage (or were) of your cousin and now he is fed up with it. He is not in the wrong at all. Pay your rent. They have bus lines if you lose your car, bikes, and even shoes!

Rent/Food your 2 most important bills to take care of.
Bumblebee | Feb 07, 2010

 You are wrong
You are taking advantage of the situation because he is a family member
Any other landlord would have kicked you out in December for non payment of rent
The cousin has bills to pay too. He has waited 2.5 mos for you to get your act together
If you do not have a lease, he can raise the rent on you, and is probably doing this to force you out
I would find a cheaper place to live
It makes no difference if he comes from a *wealthy family* and could ask his father for a loan
Why should he have to do that?
You are wrong.
My Take on It | Feb 07, 2010

As much as i feel for you, you are wrong. At the end of the day your cousin is in the property market to make money, whether you are family or not. Thats how he survives.

Any other landlord would have turfed you out before the new year for non payment, so consider yourself that youve managed to stay there for this long extended period.
Spike | Feb 07, 2010

sorry, you’re in the wrong, you’re totally unreasonable, not LL
you have been living in this bungalow and owe the rent you agreed to pay
you broke your word, your legal promise to pay
had you been paying anything toward rent one could be more sympathetic
BUT the LL has bills and mortgage and NO obligation to carry you, nor to get a loan from some one else because you’re not paying rent
your credit card debts are his problem, not the LLs
Keeping him informed is NOT enough, and that you were laid off and later working part-time,does not excuse your total failure to pay any rent for months

Whats a good Charles Bronson movie?

He is most well known for The Death Wish series I-V. The movie Death Hunt is also a classic. He also played in The Dirty Dozen, The Magnificent Seven, and the Great Escape. However he was not the central character. Another of my favorites is Mr. Majestic which is based off a great book by Elmore Leonard.

"Death Wish" movies are ultraviolent gratuitous cinematic trash. Check out "Telefon"(1977) or " Ten to Midnight" (1983), or "St Ives" (1976) if you wanna see a movie with something a plotline that doesn’t involve torture, rape or blowing up thugs to hell.
a lot of them. hard times - love and bullits - st. ives - the dirty dozen - death wish - death hunt - raid on entebbe - the mechanic - mr. majestyk - the stone killer - the valachi papers - the great escape
Thomas | Feb 01, 2010

the dirty dozen, he has a great part in it, he’s one of the central characters and it really showed what a great actor he is, much better than the great escape.
the first death wish movie is great too, because you see a man breaking down scene by scene until he just loses all control of his actions and becomes a vigilante

Do you want to know why I'm against gun control?
Check out this article:
Notice an unarmed guy was beaten up by police officers. What’s worse is WHY he was beat up. They thought he had a gun! If this guy is a US citizen with the right to keep and bear arms, why in the world would cops beat him up for allegedly having one? This is not about guns. This is about innocent until proven guilty.

He was beaten up in a struggle because police thought he had a gun. He is 18 and not allowed to have one. If he did not struggle and complied with orders, things would not have gotten this far.

Your argument is off base and I am a supporter of the second amendment, He was not beaten because the cops thought he had a gun, he was beaten because he resisted.

Clearly a court will decide if the officers acted improperly.

You are not interested in innocent until proven guilty as you have, and are trying to get others, to convict these officers in a court of public opinion.

A man who was out of his mind on drugs walked into my grandfathers house when I was a young child with the intent of robbing and killing both my nana and papa. While Nana was on the phone Papa had his gun ASKING the person to leave, warned him to leave then shot him dead when he tried to attack.

I believe that if a robber knows every house is armed and the odds of getting killed are higher they may not be so quick to act.

Without knowing the circumstances, and not knowing what the case scenario reads,
I am going to reserve comment. However if these detectives or PCO’S were assigned
to my squad, We would be having a come to Jesus meeting right as we speak. If what
is true and correct as reported in this encapsulation of news print, then those three
officers would be suspended and in need of their PBA Or FOP rep. IA would be beating
a path to their doorstep. I do not now, nor have I ever put up with misconduct on the
part of those people assigned to my squad. If you break the law then you are no better
than the element we are working so diligently to put behind bars.

Also in retrospect, if this young man is found to be culpable or involved in an action
to draw this type of response. Then the three officers should be apologized to and
nothing in their jackets to denote this action.

It is so easy to judge a police officer after the fact. One
must be totally open minded, when assessing facts that
are not visible. If you weren’t there. Then you don’t know.
We must let the investigation work its way out, and as the
facts present themselves then we will all know.
raymond | Jan 22, 2010

Do you want to know why I’m against people against gun control? Because they do not think the situation through. You might ask, "How many people have been saved because of firearms?" I would like to know how taking the guns out of the hands of people NOT doing anything wrong with them is going to control crime? Firearm education is the answer, more responsibility and training leads to fewer accidents.
If this guy is a US citizen with the right to keep and bear arms, why in the world would cops beat him up for allegedly having one?

Gang members and drug dealers who got their guns from the streets who then use them to kill each other don’t have a right to own a gun. Only law abiding citizens who bought their gun legally and don’t have a criminal or psychological record can buy a gun. That’s how it is where I’m from.

Plot: Two people Matt and Kate wake up in a closed down prison. They have no idea how they got there, or why they are there. In the prison they encounter several terrors as they look for an exit. These terrors include a wolf beast that terrorizes Kate, a hideous monster that hunts them both, a “zombie” surgeon who operates on people whilst you’re still alive, the executioner who gives Kate a ride in his electric chair and finally executes her with the guillotine. But Kate just wakes up again in the prison and the nightmare continues. Also in the prison Matt and Kate encounter a strange number that pops up a regular basis, first the number is being printed over and over again on a printer gone crazy, next the number appears painted on a wall in blood. Kate finds a room containing a vacuum tube machine for sending messages between rooms, when she pushes the operation button it comes alive and a cylinder appears. Inside the cylinder are the pictures of five people, Kate has no idea who these five people are. Later in the movie Matt and Kate explore the basement in the search for an exit and discover five pairs of shoes all neatly arranged on a shelf. As Matt and Kate endure these horrors, the beautiful fashion model Raquel Lake is being interrogated by the police about a series of homicides. Raquel is arrogant and diabolical, she also has a very high IQ and proves more than a match for the professional police interrogator. Strangely many of the subjects in the police interview correlate with the events transpiring in the prison. For instance, Raquel is shown a series of pictures of five dead people, and when Raquel is informed by the detective that they are “looking for a cold blooded predator.” Raquel’s response is….”like the wolf?” What is the connection between the two people trapped in the prison and the interrogation of Raquel Lake?

Isn't the lady from the movie "The Sound Of Music" still alive?
I was watching The Parent Trap on ABC Family and when Nanny McPhee started they said later on today the old movie "The Sound Of Music" would be on,and i looked at the lady once she sang "My Heels Are So Aliveeeeeee" and she looked awfully familiar.I was guessing maybe she is the grandmother from "The Princess Diaries" but I’m still not so sure.Isn’t she from Marry Poppins, too?I’m sorry i don’t have the name for ou to do any research for me,i couldn’t quite catch the name on the commercial. But,I’m sure they didn’t include it.I was just wondering this question,i don’t need it for anything major such as an essay or project, just wanted to know if shes from "The Princess Diaries" and if shes still alive since im very positive

Please can someone help me with my weird dream?
I had a dream last night where I was in series of books but they were totally different to how they are in real life. I went through a series of adventures that I can’t really remember but one part is stuck in my mind.

I was on a large, empty plain leading an army of ordinary people. It was extremely cold so we curled up under blankets on a gigantic bouncy-castle slide. All of a sudden another army attacked us with bombs, huge slingshots and machine guns from the high end of the slide. We fired back and there was a long battle in which most of both armies were killed. My army was winning when an enemy soldier shouted something about a second sun in the sky. It was a fiery asteroid that crashed into the slide and killed everyone. The last thing I saw was a tunnel of fire all around me and a voiceover saying ‘And because it wasn’t a lightning strike, it wasn’t a quick and painless death.’ I woke up thinking I was I was till on fire.

When a dream is so full off calamity, as yours is, wellness or good fortune is coming. Fire is generally a good omen. It is better if you did not see smoke or sparks, just the flames. Naval battles are especially signs of luck. Death in a dream often for tells a long life.
